Blessing House Donates Bikes

posted 12/30/19 -- Lorain County agencies share blessings by working together whenever possible.

That's why Blessing House sent surplus bicycles over to the LCCAA Bike Shop last month. Blessing House is a children's crisis care center, caring for children birth through 12, whose parents or caregivers are facing a crisis or emergency or who are experiencing a high level of stress that might put their children at risk of abuse or neglect.

Over its years of operation in Lorain County, Blessing House had received many children's bicycles either from donors or clients. LCCAA Bike Shop can make good use of them, according to Youth Services Coordinator Bobby Taylor. The youth have trained in how to repair bicycles for resale.

"The parts are much needed because we can use them for the smaller, toddler bikes that may need repair. Some will be prepped for resale," he said.

The youth operated LCCAA Bike Shop at 204 W. 10th St., Lorain, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m.
