Burrill Joins LCCAA Board

posted 2/8/23 -- LCCAA welcomed Sheffield Township Trustee Barbara Burrill to its Board of Directors in October.

Burrill was elected as a trustee in 2018 after retiring as Postmaster in Amherst. Her career with the U.S. Postal Service included work in labor relations and the Combined Federal Campaign. For the CFC, she raised more than $300,000 working with United Way of Greater Cleveland.

Burrill has also been a volunteer advocate at the NORD Center’s Lorain County Rape Crisis Center.

“Your focus and goals are aligned with mine and I would like to assist you with your commitment to serve and empower Lorain County residents in need,” Burrill said in her application to the board.

Lorain County Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors includes 15 people equally representing three sectors as required by federal law. One third of the board members are from the Public Sector, usually elected officials or their designees such as Burrill. Another third are from the Private Sector, business people or educators. The final third represent the low-income sector and include people living in poverty or those who serve them.
