Accepting Applications for Home Weatherization Assistance Programposted 3/3/15 -- Don’t spend another winter in a hard to heat home! LCCAA’s Home Weatherization Assistance Program is now accepting new applications from Lorain County residents.
“We have worked our way through a lengthy waiting list and are now pleased to reopen applications for this wonderful program,” said Ken Novack, Director of Housing.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, HWAP is designed to make homes more energy efficient by improving insulation while also making some appliance repairs. Eligible households must be living at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty line. Renters are eligible with the cooperation of their landlord.
Appliance repairs focus on health and safety and may include work on furnaces, air conditioners, water heaters or refrigerators. The program also provides usage tips to clients regarding energy efficiency, such as replacing light bulbs with new energy efficient CFLs.
