Benefits, Cool Air Flowing in Crisis Program

posted 7/12/22 -- Summer Crisis Program benefits now available include air conditioners and fans for Lorain County residents age 60 or older and those with medical conditions.

Ebony Steele recently received both to help her young son who has sickle cell anemia. Sickle cell patients are cautioned to avoid extreme heat and Ebony’s son had had a recent medical emergency.

LCCAA’s security guard John Abrams helped her load the equipment into her car on the first day of the program, Friday, July 1 (pictured).

The annual Summer Crisis Program provides eligible households with a one-time benefit. The primary qualification for the program is a gross annual income at or below 175 percent of the Federal Poverty Line ($48,562.50 for a family of four in 2022).
