Federal funding for Head Start and other Community Action programs operated by LCCAA and other agencies nationwide may be in jeopardy in the next budget cycle. We need your help to protect the programs that assist your neighbors.
While we don’t know everything, news coverage and reports from our state and national associations have us concerned about the future of Head Start, the Home Energy Assistance Program and the Community Services Block Grant which undergirds our agency.
The federal budget goes through a lengthy process and we expect we will be having conversations through the summer months.
We need YOUR help to preserve the future of our services. Head Start, HEAP and Community Action in general provide a safety net for the most vulnerable members of our community and we need them to continue.
You can help in two ways:
- Share your story with us! We are collecting success stories from Head Start families and all LCCAA clients. Email us at [email protected]. If you prefer, we can withhold your name and protect your identity.
- Write to lawmakers. For Head Start in particular, all you have to do is click here to use the National Head Start Association’s messaging tool. For other programs, click here for a list of lawmaker addresses.
We are confident we can work together to amplify the voices of those impacted by all our programs. We are grateful for your support!
