Lorain County residents seeking to improve their computer skills and possibly their employment prospects can register for LCCAA's free 8-session computer class. The class provides basic instruction in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Internet searches, email use and resume building. Income-eligible participants who complete the 8-session course will receive a free, refurbished computer.
To be eligible for Tech Connect classes, residents must be living at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. Currently, classes are offered at multiple sites thanks to LCCAA’s partnership with various agencies throughout Lorain County, including OhioMeansJobs.
Required documentation includes:
- Ohio Driver License/SS Card for all household members
- Proof of income
- Two most recent paystubs/W-2/SSI or SS Benefit Statement
- Proof of other forms of income/current income tax forms
- Complete intake assessment
- Complete required OhioMeansJobs course
