Lorain County residents seeking to improve their computer skills and possibly their employment prospects can register for LCCAA's free 8-session computer class. The class provides basic instruction in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Internet searches, email use and resume building.
2020 classes will be held at OhioMeansJobs on the following dates:
Feb. 3 to 6 and 10 to 13
April 13 to 16 and 20 to 23 - CANCELLED DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS
August 3 to 6 and 20 to 13
October 19 to 22 and 26 to 29
Classes are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
Participants must attend all classes.
To be eligible for Tech Connect classes, residents must be living at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Currently, classes are offered at multiple sites thanks to LCCAA’s partnership with various agencies throughout Lorain County, including OhioMeansJobs.
Required documentation includes:
- Ohio Driver License/SS Card for all household members
- Proof of income
- Two most recent paystubs/W-2/SSI or SS Benefit Statement
- Proof of other forms of income/current income tax forms
- Complete intake assessment
- Complete required OhioMeansJobs course
