CARES Water Bill Assistance

The CARES Water Bill Assistance Program provides one-time assistance to residents affected by the COVID-19 Crisis. The program begins Sept. 1, 2020.

Households must be living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Line and have been current on their bill as of March 1, 2020. Your inability to pay your bill MUST be related to COVID-19 (i.e. job loss, income reduction, illness).

Residents who are on PIPP, receiving help from the Summer Crisis Program or who have received help from the Winter Crisis Program or regular Home Energy Assistance Program may qualify for the CARES Water Bill Assistance Program. An application still must be made.

Regulations regarding what is considered income will be the same as those used for the HEAP program.

All appointments will be conducted by phone with zero contact. Documentation can be dropped off at the secure box at 936 Broadway Ave., Lorain, faxed to 440-201-6483 or emailed to
