By Car Client Drives Away Happy

posted 12/20/22 -- McKayla Jodon excitedly drove her new 2015 Volkswagen Passat off the lot of CarFace Auto Group on Dec. 16.

“The first place I drove my car was to the House of the Lord. It is a blessing to even have a vehicle right now,” she said.

By Car matches earned income to help participants purchase a reliable used car to get to work or school. This year, LCCAA has partnered with OhioMeansJobs Lorain County which allowed for a higher match ceiling and added a year’s worth of insurance as a program benefit.

Jodon was among the group of 12 women who recently completed the required financial class for the program.

Prior to the program, Jodon would ride with her husband in his work truck or receive help from supportive friends. Her car will be put to good use after she earns her real estate license. She sent her application in the same day she got her car.

Jodon encourages others to try the By Car program.

“Close all the doors that do not pertain to the goal you’ve set for yourself,” she said. “The By Car program was professional, helpful and kept their word. It’s worth the work and patience.”
