Food Pantry Partnerships To Return

posted 10/6/21 -- Lorain County Community Action Agency will again partner with local food pantries across the county to keep them supplied during their busiest time of the year.

"COVID-19 has only increased the need for help in our community,” said Bobby Taylor, Director of Planning and Community Services. “Even recent boosts to food stamps are not solving all the hunger we see in Lorain County.

Pantries who have partnered with LCCAA in past years should have received a letter inviting them to return to the program. Past partners should contact Client Services Specialist Amy Steele at 440-204-3121 or [email protected] as soon as possible.

The grants help approximately 31,000 people living at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Line every year, Taylor said. Many are vulnerable senior citizens.

Some of the partners use the grant funds in specific programming such as meals or holiday packages. Others use the funds to stock their regular pantries.
