Head Start Report Released

posted 8/27/21 -- LCCAA has remained an essential service responding to skyrocketing need and projecting hope for our community throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

The agency’s Head Start program proved its strength lies in its flexibility as it created a brand new way to serve children and families.

“Our Head Start staff and families met this unprecedented challenge with the creativity and compassion they are known for,” said LCCAA President and CEO Jackie Boehnlein. “Our program went home, went online and finally returned to our centers. Through it all, we maintained high standards of service and excellence preparing children for kindergarten and sparking a desire for lifelong learning.”

LCCAA released its annual Head Start Learning Outcomes Report this week with the theme “The Art of Adjusting.” The report details all the adjustments made in all aspects of the program as it continued to serve and empower Lorain County families.

“Time after time, everyone associated with LCCAA Head Start demonstrated strength and determination,” Boehnlein added. “The stories, photos and comments featured here tell a story of resilience, very similar to the one our clients write every day.”
