Two Within Agency Promoted

posted 10/23/20 -- LCCAA congratulates two employees on their recent promotions within the agency.

Aaron Thompson has been named Director of Operations effective October 12. Thompson has been with LCCAA for five years, starting in a summer youth program.

“Aaron came in as a part-time employee balancing his college studies with work,” said CEO Jackie Boehnlein in announcing Thompson’s promotion.

Prior to this last promotion, Thompson served as the Agency’s Senior Integration Specialist spearheading projects related to technology and operations, including automating several processes, leading the administrative office relocation from 506 Broadway Ave., to 936 Broadway Ave., and implementing an employee performance tracking program.

As Director of Operations, Thompson will be responsible for managing resources, developing and implementing an operational plan and ensuring that procedures are carried out properly. Additionally, Thompson will assess the needs of the agency and work to ensure that daily operations run smoothly and as efficiently.

Finance Director Justin Paige had been serving in a dual role with operations, Boehnlein said.

“Separating the roles reflects the tremendous increase in demands on our Agency’s operations and systems,” she added.

“I am excited to move into the role of Director of Operations,” Thompson said. “I know being better at how we operate means we get to help more people”.

Alex Vassar has also been promoted from Technology Coordinator to Technology Specialist. In his year with the agency, Vassar has been called upon to update and integrate technology as LCCAA navigates COVID-19.

“We thought we were a technology-forward agency before the pandemic,” Boehnlein said. “We have embraced new systems and equipment since March and Alex has been instrumental in that growth.”

Vassar’s new title is a reflection of the increased responsibility he has taken on and he will continue to report to Paige.
