Free Classes for Parents

posted 2/13/20 -- If you are struggling with challenging behaviors at home, you are not alone.

LCCAA Head Start has partnered with Ohio Guidestone to present tips and tricks for parents from “The Incredible Years” parent curriculum. These workshops are free and no registration is required.

Next week, two sessions will be held on building a "relationship bank account” with your child were held. Parents will learn skills to teach, coach and grow their children’s skills and behaviors.

Join us at Hopkins-Locke on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. or at Griswold on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 9 a.m.

In March, attend Preventing Misbehaviors either on Tuesday, March 24 at 9 a.m. at Hopkins-Locke or on Thursday, March 26 at 9 a.m. at Griswold. Learn to develop efficient rules and routines.Learn how to use commands and redirections. Learn to get temper tantrums and power struggles under control.

In April, LCCAA and Ohio Guidestone will present Reducing Misbehaviors on Tuesday, April 21 at 9 a.m. at Hopkins-Locke and on Thursday, April 23 at 9 a.m. at Griswold. Learn to ignore behaviors while teaching and practicing calming skills. Learn to use consequences effectively. Learn to help your child solve problems.

All sessions run approximately one hour but extended time will be given for question and discussion. Sessions will be held in the sites conference rooms. Questions should be directed to your family service worker.
