Tech Connect Graduates Another Classposted 2/7/19 -- LCCAA’s Tech Connect class helps participants overcome fear and move forward with confidence and new skills.
The latest class of graduates included Donna Buchanan who, after working at the same place for 19 years, needed some help updating her skills. She saw the flyer at an Ohio Means Jobs orientation and enrolled with high hopes. Instructor Arun Singh didn’t disappoint.
“He has a mentality that no question is a dumb question,” she said. “He explains things thoroughly, very thoroughly. And he’ll even walk around and look at your screen and make sure you’ve got it.”
The class provides basic instruction in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Internet searches, email use and resume building.
After completing the course, graduates who are living at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Level receive a free, refurbished computer, complete with detailed instructions on how to set it up.
LCCAA will offer another Tech Connect class at Ohio Means Jobs in March. Details will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
