Partners Help Enhance Head Start Program

posted 11/7/18 -- LCCAA Head Start has multiple partners who provide Program Enhancements for our students throughout the school year.

The Beck Center will provide a music and movement program designed to keep kids fully engaged for half the school year. Viva Spanish will also be offered for half the school year.

Vanyo Martial Arts is providing instruction in tae kwon do all year at LCCAA’s directly operated Head Start centers at Hopkins-Locke, Cascade, Wellington, Griswold Road in Elyria and at Firelands Elementary School.

At Hopkins Locke and Griswold, Ohio Guidestone will also bring a Dino Program which uses puppets to help kids with social and emotional development. The program is funded by the Ohio Board of Mental Health.

“This upbeat, active approach to learning is wonderful for our children,” said Deanna Gregg, site administrator. “Children can express themselves freely and creatively through all areas of developmental learning and all these opportunities work together to prepare our Head Start students to become lifelong learners.”
