Youth Program Offers ACT Class

posted 7/20/18 -- Lorain County Community Action Agency believes every student's success is worth investing in. College Now Greater Cleveland agrees and collaborated with LCCAA last week to bring its ACT Boot Camp program to Lorain.

"It can mean a lot for a student to get a good score," said instructor Janis Anderle, College Access Advisor for College Now. "Some students aren't in the best situations and a good ACT score can help them get out of their bad situation."

Students agree and appreciated the opportunity to go into the test with strong preparation. "I think it helped because I didn't know what we'd see on test and now I know," said one. Another added: "She helped us get prepared for a test I never taken before. We need more opportunities like this."

Anderle also emphasized the importance of collaborations to help spread its programming, now in every Cleveland school and in Lorain County.

"We cannot do as much good on our own as we can with others," she said.
