Rev. Currie Retires from LCCAA Board

posted 12/15/22 -- Rev. Calvin Currie completes his service on the LCCAA Board of Directors on Dec. 31.

After 15 uninterrupted years serving on the board and chairing the Program Review and Development Committee, Currie has left an “indelible imprint” on both the agency and the community. His committee leadership also “guided important changes and improvements to service.”

“Rev. Currie has always been concerned that our programs were genuinely helping people in ways that matter,” said CEO Jackie Boehnlein. “His support and backing of organizational changes was pivotal in moving the agency through some difficult and challenging times.”

LCCAA’s Board of Directors is composed of 15 members, five each from three different sectors: public, private and low-income. Currie served as part of the low-income sector in his capacity as a board member with the Elyria NAACP.

Currie, a former Head Start student, also serves as a pastor at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Elyria and also has had a career at BASF.

“What you mean to all of us is beyond simple words,” wrote Boehnlein and Board Chair Gerald Pippens in a congratulatory letter. “Working with you has been a great privilege. You are wished wellness and every happiness.”
