Agency to Present Needs Assessment

posted 6/16/22 -- LCCAA extends condolences to the family of former Lorain Police Chief Cel Rivera. Due to services for Chief Rivera, our event has been moved from the Spitzer Conference Center to the Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College.

LCCAA will present its latest Community Needs Assessment to the public at an event June 28 at Lorain County Community College.

This year, LCCAA turned to The Center for Community Solutions to conduct the assessment and produce a robust report of the post-pandemic needs in the community, said President and CEO Jackie Boehnlein.

The Community Needs Assessment is required under the federal Community Services Block grant. Community Action agencies were built with local leaders in mind. Instead of having national one-size-fits-all programs, agencies and programs were created to meet the unique needs of each community.

Identifying these local needs is now a formalized, data-driven process with mandates for state approved work plans and budgets. LCCAA’s assessment was approved by its board in April and influences both annual strategic planning and upcoming grant applications.

“Our programming improves living conditions, creates a sense of ownership and pride in our communities and strengthens support systems for families,” Boehnlein said.

The presentation will begin at 2 p.m. in the Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College. Please register in advance by cicking here. The event is free and light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
