'Tell Ten' to Complete Census

posted 9/18/20 -- As the 2020 Census nears the end of its self-response period, area social services agencies and the Lorain County Complete Count Committee have created a video plea to make sure everyone gets counted.

“We are particularly concerned that vulnerable populations will get undercounted,” said LCCAA President and CEO Jackie Boehnlein. “Historically, children, Hispanics and the poor are under represented in the census count.”

“Losing one person in the count could mean losing a much at $20,000 in federal funding over the next ten years,” said Victor Leandry, Executive Director of El Centro de Servicios Sociales, Inc. “An accurate count is extremely important to everyone in Lorain County.”

The video includes Boehnelin, Leandry, County Commissioner Matt Lundy, Elyria Mayor Frank Whitfield, Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley and directors of other social services agencies and community foundations.
