Bike Shop Receives Materials Help

posted 1/9/19 -- LCCAA's Youth Services Bike Shop began 2019 with a boost toward its opening day from Lorain County Public Health. The Youth Services Program is a partner in Go Lorain (formerly Lorain Connected).

As part of that collaboration, Public Health is donating nearly $5,000 worth of equipment for the shop. The donation includes 50 bike helmets from Prorider.com, five professional tool kits and five floor pumps from Park Tool.

The bike shop, set to open in May, has also received a $5,000 grant from theInsurance Industry Charitable Foundation's Ohio Chaptertoward tools and equipment.

The Bike Shop will be operated in a building on West 10th Street, directly behind the LCCAA Headquarters at 936 Broadway in Lorain. Participantsin the Youth Services Program will gain work experience as well as opportunities to serve the community.
