posted 8/29/24 -- Krystal Speights enters her third year as an assistant teacher at Griswold Head Start with a new Child Development Associate credential. After working for several years at First Student, Krystal joined Head Start staff in 2022. The process of getting her credential was a challenging personal journey while juggling her full-time job.
She’s grateful for all the tricks and tips she learned to motivate her students.
“I’ve learned so much and I plan on implementing everything I’ve learned,” she said.
The CDA is considered the foundational credential for those in the early childhood education profession. Krystal is one of more than two dozen LCCAA Head Start staff members to earn the credential in the past year.
