Donors Can Select a Free Gift

posted 5/9/24 -- Donors to Lorain County Community Action Agency can select a free gift when they make their contributions.

To further serve and empower the residents of Lorain County, the agency is exploring opportunities for full-cycle farming and urban gardening. These efforts fit nicely with the agency’s partnerships in community gardens and include the opportunity to support LCCAA by receiving a perennial plant with each donation, while supplies last.

Recently, LCCAA received a generous donation of arborvitae shrubs from Schaefer Nursery in Tennessee. The agency also currently has a variety of other plants for donors to choose.

For a $7 donation, choose an arborvitae, hosta, dogwood seedling, Douglas fir seedling or Scotch pine seedling.

For a $14 donation, choose multiples of the above or a blackberry or goji berry bush.

Donations can be made and plants chosen on May 20 between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. at 936 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Make your donation online by clicking here and bring your receipt if you prefer.

For more information on donating or to arrange a different time to select your gift, contact Justin Paige at [email protected]. Ask about our experiments with worm castings to ensure your new plants are well fertilized.
