Winter Crisis Help Starts Nov. 1posted 10/25/16 -- LCCAA's Winter Crisis Program will begin Tuesday, Nov. 1 but residents who needhelp paying for heat or who have had their heat turned off can call the HEAP hotline at 1-855-806-9620 beginning Oct. 25 to make an appointment.
To be eligible for help, residents must live at or below 175% of the federal poverty line.
The automated appointment line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to schedule appointments. However, there is an option to speak to a representative during regular office hours.
The hotline also includes a recorded message describing the documents needed for the appointment.
LCCAA will also see a limited number of walk ins at both the Lorain and Wellington sites. At 401 Broadway in downtown Lorain, walk-in hours are Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Wellington Office at 115 Willard Memorial Square will see walk-ins Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Both sites are closed from 12 to 1 p.m. daily for lunch.
The Winter Crisis Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and administered by the Ohio Development Services Agency's Office of Community Assistance.
