Winter Crisis Begins Nov 3posted 11/1/14 -- LCCAA's Winter Crisis Program begins Nov. 3.
Residents who need help paying for heat or who have had their heat turned off should call the HEAP hotline at 1-855-806-9620 no earlier than October 24 to make an appointment.
To be eligible for help, residents must live at or below 175% of the federal poverty line.
The automated line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to schedule appointments. However, there is an option to speak to a representative during regular office hours. The hotline also includes a recorded message describing the documents needed for your appointment.
The new office hours at the Broadway office in Lorain are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Hours at the Wellington office are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Beginning Nov. 3, LCCAA will also see a limited number of walk-ins at its office at 401 Broadway in downtown Lorain. Appointments are strongly encouraged.
The program will run through March 31, 2015.
