Head Start Well Received on Capitol Hill

posted 2/2/17 -- Early Childhood Educators from across the country converged on Capitol Hill last week for theNational Head Start Association Leadership Conference.

LCCAA Head Start Executive Director Shauna Matelski and other Ohio Head Start leaders and parents met with Congressman Bob Gibbsto discuss Ohio's Head Start programs and the importance of Early Childhood Education.

"It was a wonderful opportunity to share the impact Head Start has in the lives of children and families," Matelski said. "With a new administration coming in, we felt it was important to ensure our Congressmen and Senators continue to receive our strong message that Head Start works! We were very well received and have begun the process to ensure our legislators are provided with the most current research and outcomes of Head Start children and families."
