Hopkins-Locke Earns Five Star Ratingposted 6/13/16 -- LCCAA's Hopkins Locke Head Start Center earned a fifth star in Ohio's Step Up to Quality Program.
SUTQ recognizes early learning and development programs the go beyond minimum standards. Five stars is its highest rating.
The program has been voluntary; however, beginning in 2020, all early childhood programs must be rated or they will be ineligible for public funds. All of LCCAA’s centers are rated at 3 stars or higher.
"This confirms what a wonderful environment for learning we have at Hopkins-Locke," said Head Start Director Shauna Matelski. "Every teacher, staff member and family should be proud of this news."
Higher ratings are given to programs employing teachers with more training as well as enhanced parent, family and community engagement, among other criteria.
