Grant Takes Tech Connect to OhioMeansJobs

posted 5/13/16 -- Thanks to a grant from the State of Ohio, LCCAA will offer its successful Tech Connect class to job seekers at OhioMeansJobs Lorain County beginning May 16.

Tech Connect is designed to improve employability by teaching computer skills and is offered at LCCAA's Community Learning and Technology Center four times a year. Topics include Microsoft Office, Internet searches and email use. Successful completion of all eight classes earns participants a free, refurbished computer.

This special, one-time class begins Monday May 16 and meets at OhioMeansJobs Lorain County, 42495 North Ridge Road, Elyria. The class is a partnership among Lorain County Workforce Development, Lorain County Job & Family Services and LCCAA. Funding from the State comes through the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA).

"LCCAA hopes this can be a catalyst for offering more programs in conjunction with these agencies," said Frank Prihoda, LCCAA's Director of Planning and Community Services.
