Summer Crisis Service Levels Up Across the Stateposted 8/21/12 -- 66,000 Ohioans have received cooling assistance this summer--an increase of more than one-third from 2011. In Lorain County, 700 air conditioners were distributed to those in medical need. Last year, less than half that amount were provided.
"It is a combination of record summer heat and a dramatic increase in funding," states Jackie Boehnlein, LCCAA President & CEO (Interim). She adds, "Opening a new satelitte in Elyria has also been very beneficial."
The Summer Crisis Program continues through August 31, 2012.
