LCCAA and LMHA Distribute Hundreds of Coatsposted 11/9/16 -- For a fourth year, Lorain County Community Action Agency has partnered with Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority to distribute new winter coats to children living in LMHA buildings.
More than 350 new coats were distributed in four Project Warm events earlier this month. Children up to age 18 were eligible. At the Southside Gardens event last week, Lorain Police Department officers also distributed school supplies.
One more event is planned and will be announced soon, said LCCAA Communications Director Carla Rodriguez.
"This is a wonderful program that meets a real and obvious need for Lorain County children," Rodriguez said.
Coats are purchased annually with funds from the agency's Community Services Block Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
